weekends in NJ are way too short.
on friday bffs D & G and i planned to do a low key sushi and (BYO) wine night at robongi and by “low key” i mean we each brought and consumed our own bottle. normal, right? right. as previously reported, i’m pretty sure the zuck (or his bizarro twin) was sitting 2 tables from us and i had no shame in my creeper game. he left before i had enough liquid courage to go up and say hi which is probably a good thing. post-sushi we decided to stop by a bar and say hi to some friends and by “say hi” i mean stay out til closing time and then continue drinking at D’s place.
needless to say, we were hurting saturday morning and bunnycon was a huge joke so we laid around until we were hungry enough for burgers at 1republik. i got the frank sinatra a.k.a. melted roquefort, black pepper, bacon and an ale battered onion ring. unfortunately, i was too hungover to enjoy all of the deliciousness. we finally got our lives together around 8 pm and headed down the shore for bff N’s birthday festivities. we all hadn’t been together since N’s wedding back in 2010 so it was quite the reunion, a reunion that ended with N’s husband and i playing beer pong vs. D and S (the giant’s bff) in their backyard at 4 am whilst playing “call me maybe” on repeat on my iphone, which resulted in the cops showing up and threatening to give us a noise violation. oops.
and now it’s tuesday and i think i’ve finally recovered .. but it may just be the venti iced americano i got this morning.
p.s. tell me that’s not mark zuckerberg though. forreal.
WHAT.A.WEEKEND. seriously, i haven’t partied 3 nights in a row since forever (and by forever i mean, miami).
the 80’s party on friday was a blast and a half. lots of neon, lots of booze and lots of laughs with my amazing college friends. fitzy and i ran the beer pong table (7 games in a row, bitches) and then we all headed out to one of my fave bars in the world, 10th & willow, got into a mini scuffle with some broad that made fun of our awesome outfits, hit up the diner (duh) anddd then i went home with one of my best guy friends .. again. at least i’m consistent, right? right.
i was hur-ting saturday morning but napped and rallied right in time for our alumni reunion. we sat at our seats for about 3.5 seconds before taking over the ice lounge where we completely forgot there was a basketball game going on. all my hard work and planning was beyond worth it as we had about 50 alum show up (pictured), including one of our founding chapter members who is now a chapter advisor and who (more importantly) bought me multiple patron shots. SHU lost but we kept the party going back in hoboken until the wee hours of the night, including 3 am burgers at lucky’s.
surprisingly enough, i was not hungover sunday morning and got on the road around 10:30 am, was back in DC in record time and went straight to work on my only responsibility for mom’s 50th birthday bash: operation buy all the adult beverages. hat’s off to trader joe’s and total wine in springfield for making my job a breeze. the party was a blast, we surprised bea with a mariachi seranade (a dream of hers), i drunk danced with my dad all night and then called out of work yesterday morning.
like i said, WHAT.A.WEEKEND.
oh, and i’m wearing this tonight.
we’re kicking off AGD alum weekend with a theme party because we’re old and miss going to mixers hosted by my partner in crime. 75% chance of table dancing, 120% chance of going out to the bars in full 80’s gear.
i’m going to start a novel soon, she said, but not now. i’m too tired to hear myself write, she added.
cross out novel and replace with blog and that’s kinda how i feel about this week. i have definitely been tired, not to mention achey and coughing/sneezing/sore throat-ing which led to a lot of time spent in bed, reading and sleeping and drinking all of the theraflu in DC. i’ve also eaten a lot of wheat bread sandwiches the past few days so i’ve got that going for me, right? right.
the good news is i’m starting to feel normal again (thanks for all the love) and i just bought tix for the RHCP concert in may (see you there, MC!) and it’s 60 degrees out and we are having meatball subs for lunch today and i get to leave early AND spend all weekend with my gam girls in NJ. just what the doctor ordered.
happy friday, friends!
this literally made me laugh out loud slash i love my sisters.
happy (FLEETWOOD) friday!
disclaimer: i don’t know james so i don’t care about protecting his identity.
Last night we had a pretty sweet DC Tumblr meetup at Vapiano in Dupont Circle (complete with a reserved table with a tree in the middle like we’re fancy).
Once again, meeting Tumblr peeps IRL continues to impress me because everyone is so freaking awesome.

Shit DC Says.
THIS WINS.
hey KB, remember that time ovi’s body guard was trolling for hot girls (i.e. us) at russia house? a.k.a. the time we got into a stranger’s car and ended up partying with alex ovechkin and other russian creepers/hockey players.
hey skins, remember how you continue to break my heart year after year? it’s all good .. i still love you. see you in september.
hey 18 year old self, remember when you used your fake to go clubbing at fur and ibiza and thought you were THE coolest? 26 year old self says that’s nothing to be proud of. you were not cool, you were drunk in NE.

not necessarily a gratuitous picture of myself - although those man calves are mine - but i just had to share one of the many ridiculous photos from T & D’s wedding weekend. also, if you ever make it to the executive inn on long island, please note that their benches are not made for 2 drunk girls dancing on top of. the tables and nightstands, however, are quite sturdy .. not that i know from personal experience or anything.
